I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction 10+ years ago. Accepting a diagnosis of Breast cancer and choosing the treatment was not as emotionally devastating as failed reconstruction. I had breast reduction surgery by Caroline Glicksman in June. After having appointments with various surgeons, I decided to schedule my surgery with her. One of the reasons was because she’s a woman, and I think women have a better idea of what a natural breast looks like, but the other more important reason is that she said “no” to me. The other doctors had “sold” me on some additional procedures in conjunction with the reduction that sounded great (GalaFlex mesh and liposuction on sides). In her opinion these were not only unnecessary but could cause unwanted results and possible complications. I am so thankful she told me and that I decided use for her to do my procedure. I could not be more thrilled with the results. I had some asymmetry which is gone and my breasts look like they did when I was a teenager. After the surgery I had soreness and discomfort but no pain. To say I was anxious is an understatement. It turned out amazingly well! I am mid 50’s and had a few children, gained and lost weight through out the years & left me with a little more extra skin than I wanted in my belly area. I usually don’t post reviews but I just returned from another breast implant follow-up with Dr. Glicksman. I had silicone implants placed 7 years ago and as she promised, she has been seeing me back for follow-up every other year. I was concerned this year after seeing news stories about implants being recalled and she sent me a letter with updated information. This year she also did an ultrasound right in the office and I could see that my implants still look perfect! Dr. Caroline Glicksman is by far one of the most greatest doctors I have ever met! She is absolutely fantastic!!! I thought about getting a breast lift and reduction for several years before finally deciding to go through with it last summer. I am 5’4″, 135 pounds, and (incorrectly) wore DD bras that my breasts were always spilling out of. I researched the online portfolios and web reviews of pretty much every plastic surgeon in the area, asked around, and finally decided to go to Dr. Glicksman for a consult. By the time I got to her office and had mentally made the commitment to get the reduction, I had decided that B cups were the way to go. Dr. Glicksman was professional, nice, and very friendly, but at the same time quite opinionated on what would look good for my body type and what was attainable. When I told her I wanted B cups, she said that I was a curvy hourglass-shaped woman, and that removing too much breast tissue wouldn’t balance me out that well. We decided to do more of a lift with a slight reduction, which she said was more what I needed. She said the lift would make a world of difference in how I felt about my breasts, and so I decided to trust her professional opinion. Fast-forward several months later – I couldn’t be happier with the results. My breasts are now small D’s, but are lifted and very proportionate to my body. I’m extremely happy that I did not go smaller. There was a week-long time period after the surgery where my breasts were very compacted from the entire surgical process and looked rather small, and I was scared that too much was taken out. But then a couple of weeks later they dropped and settled, and they are perfectly symmetrical and look great. My *only* complaint during this entire process is that my appointments were rescheduled a couple of times due to Dr. Glicksman going to training and conventions. A minor complaint, but when I make an appointment I really don’t like to have to switch it! Plastic surgery is as much technical skill as it is an art, and it is so important to choose someone who is gifted in both areas. I went to Dr. Glicksman about three years ago by recommendation from a co-worker when I was looking to get a breast augmentation. This year I went back to Dr. Glicksman because I have always been self-conscious of a hereditary double chin that I have had my whole life. No matter how much weight I lost, this was always there. She informed me about a procedure using Kybella® that would basically melt away the fast deposits in my neck/chin. After two sessions, it is safe to say the fat has melted away. My neck has completely transformed and is defined now, and I don’t feel self-conscious having people look at me from a side profile. The procedure didn’t take much time, and the healing was tolerable. I would recommend getting it done in the winter, however, because the swelling sticks around for a couple weeks. I was unbelievably fortunate to meet Dr. Glicksman last fall. I am 18 and was heading off to college. My mom has been a patient of Dr. Glicksman for years and asked her to look at a mole on my back.
