Honesty, warmth and experience are the foundations of my New Jersey plastic surgery practice. As a child of a radiation oncologist and an ER nurse, I grew up with an understanding of both the science and art of medicine. As a wife, and a mother of four, I have a unique connection with my patients that I believe only a woman and mother can provide.

From their first consultation, patients notice the warm, friendly atmosphere of my Sea Girt office. I have never run my practice like a plastic surgery factory. I’ve based my practice on the philosophy that an educated patient will make better, safer decisions, and I personally spend a great deal of time with every patient. Consultations, I believe, should be informative, pleasant, and without any pressure to schedule a procedure. Further, all consultations are always with me, and you will never be seen by a medical assistant or a nurse educator. Neither my staff, nor myself will ever recommend an operation, a non-surgical procedure, or even a skin care product that you don’t need. In fact, I would rather see my patients leave the office well informed, without an operation, than ever undergo an unnecessary procedure.

What further differentiates my plastic surgery practice is the one-on-one relationship I have with my patients. Patients often first reach me with online questions, which I personally read and answer. From there, most patients will schedule their first consultation with me, and together we will develop a plan, either surgical or non-surgical, that is designed to achieve their goals. After surgery or office treatments, I continue to see every patient, at every visit that follows, year after year.

Since 1991, as a woman plastic surgeon, the focus of my practice has been women’s breast health. In the late 1990s, I fought to mandate insurance coverage for breast reconstruction, and for 16 years worked nationally with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), as well as the manufacturers of breast implants, to bring safe silicone gel breast implants back to the United States. As a clinical investigator, I am one of a handful of plastic surgeons nationwide who received training in 2005 on the use of the newest shaped highly cohesive silicone breast implants, sometimes called “Gummy Bear” breast implants. As a principle investigator for seven breast implant studies, since 1995, all of my collected data has been reviewed and submitted to the FDA, and eventually for publication.

In addition, I have been an educational consultant for two leading breast implant manufacturers for more than 20 years, continually developing and updating teaching materials for surgeons and residents. I have published articles and multiple chapters in prestigious plastic surgery journals and textbooks on breast augmentation, the treatment of breast and chest wall deformities, and the management of breast implant complications. I am a faculty member of both of our national plastic surgery meetings each year and lecture nationally and internationally.

Because of my profound commitment to my patients, all of my surgical patients, and in particular my breast augmentation patients, are assured long-term follow-up. Only by following my patients over the years can I continue to improve my outcomes.
